Simple Hors D'oeuvre Ideas

I have posted photos of hors d'oeuvres many times without posting recipes. I thought I would share some basic ideas for making some quick items from things you have probably cooked many times just miniaturized.
A basic grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato only cut squarely in four and then each quarter cut diagonally in half to make a small triangle.

Your favorite quesadilla can be cooked, allowed to set and then cut into small circles using cookie cutters. I know there is waste using this method but that can be the cooks share.

A ficelle (which is a thin French bread) can yield as many as eighty croutons suitable for making crostinis. A little imagination goes a long way. This is fava bean puree with smoked salmon.

Be sure to drop over and see some of the links some people added to my fun “what would you smuggle into prison” link up and be sure to add one of you own if you have not done so already.

Amazon have some very good books on the topic. I have to say I was surprised by how good some of Martha Stewarts books are. Click here to see my affiliate links  Hors D'oeuvre .
