Reading Terminal Market. Philadelphia, PA

I was going to title this post “”Philadelphia’s Phabulous Phood Phenue” but I know not everyone is a fan of  strangulation of the English language. I recently posted about how impressed I was with NYC’s Grand Central Terminal Market and wondered if Reading Terminal was comparable. It is in no way comparable because in my opinion the Philadelphia market is so much bigger and better.

Mouth-watering aromas. Produce fresh from the field. Amish specialties. Fresh meats, seafood, and poultry. Unique, hand-made pottery, jewelry and crafts from around the world. The hustle and bustle of a multitude of diverse people. It’s all here in Philadelphia’s historic farmers market, Reading Terminal Market. An exhilarating selection of baked goods, meats, poultry, seafood, produce, flowers, ethnic foods, cookware and eclectic restaurants are peppered throughout the Market. We invite you to explore this unique and extraordinary historic farmers market in Center City Philadelphia.
The description above comes from the market's website and puts it better than I ever could. This is a must visit for anybody with even the slightest interest in food. I actually went on two different days the first day was during lunch hour and while I bought some food to eat I had to return the earlier following day so I could take some photos in a less crowded space,

Rather than try to explain the vast array of market stalls and eateries I will just share some photographs and let you see just how incredible it is and hope I do it justice.

And I know the famous “”Love Sign” art work is not even particularly close to the market but no visit to Philadelphia is complete without a visit to Love Park.

This is really only scratching the surface of the market and I urge anybody visiting Philadelphia to  pay a visit and see for themselves.
